WAVERLY – Aberdeen Christian featured a balanced attack on the way to a volleyball sweep on Saturday afternoon.

The Knights defeated Waverly-South Shore 25-15, 25-20, 25-13 in non-conference action.

Christian had a variety of players who helped to produce the victory.

“We have worked on moving the ball around, so it’s nice to see that balance,” said Christian coach Sara Powell. “The girls served well, too.”

Jolie Fogarty topped the squad with nine kills, Ari Johnson followed with eight, and Sophia Eichler contributed six.

Sawyer Schwan led the team with four aces and 25 set assists, in addition to collecting eight digs.

Alexis Isakson had a team-best 17 digs.

Christian improved to 13-9 on the season. The Knights, who are on the road for the rest of the season, play Leola-Frederick at Frederick on Thursday.

Christian has one tournament and three other duals before heading into the postseason.

“We just need to stay focused and keep pushing forward,” Powell said.
