GETTYSBURG – Pierce Baumberger and Madeline Nye of Miller topped their respective fields at the combined Central South Dakota Conference and Yellowstone Trail Conference Cross Country Meet on Wednesday.
Baumberger clocked a time of 16:31.68 to win the boys’ race, while Nye won the girls’ event in a time of 19:10.39.
North Central, which had three of the top seven runners won the boys’ team championship, and Potter County claimed the girls’ team crown. Miller was second in both divisions.
Gavin Hirsch of Selby Area was third in the boys’ race. North Central’s Gabe Johnson, Drew Arbach, and Avery Wells finished fifth, sixth, and seventh, respectively.
Dannika Kaup of Potter County was runner-up in the girls’ race, Wolsey-Wessington’s Kendal Uttecht was fourth, and Jaycee Stevens of Potter County was fifth.
