RAPID CITY – Aberdeen Roncalli’s Raley Haskell finished sixth at flight three singles at the Class A State Tennis Tournament on Tuesday.
The Cavaliers finished ninth in the team standings, while Milbank was 10th.
“Overall, it was a rough day for us,” said Roncalli coach Jason Haskell.
Raley Haskell won her first match on the day, before falling in the fifth place match.
“Raley battled through a little injury suffered during a match (Monday),” Coach Haskell said.
River Haskell lost in a tough battle at second flight singles.
“River showed some grit after struggling to get going and then battled, playing much better to win some games down the stretch in her loss to Vermillion,” Coach Haskell said. “I was glad to see her turn it around and finish strong.”

Milbank had three players win their final singles matches to finish in ninth place: Jenna Korstjens at flight one, Ashlynn Lamp at flight two, and Charlotte Swanson at flight six.
Roncalli will graduate three players off of this year’s team: Katherine Kretchman, Raley Haskell, and River Haskell.
“Those three seniors will be greatly missed,” Coach Haskell said. “They have been such a part of Roncalli tennis. With a slew of younger kids joining the program this year, things look promising from RHS going forward.”
