Wolves bounce back for volleyball win over Duluth

One night after being swept, the Northern State volleyball squad bounced back in a big way on Saturday afternoon. The 22nd-ranked Wolves dropped the first set before taking down 25th rated Minnesota-Duluth 23-25, 25-20, 25-22, 25-22 in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference action at Wachs Arena. It was a big day for Abby Brooks, who established a new school record with 14 assisted blocks. That total erased the previous record of 10 in a match shared by Jenna Reiff and Whitney Morsching. The Wolves used a balanced attack on offense led by Hanna Thompson with 14 kills. Natalia Szybinska followed with 11, and Morrisen Samuels contributed 10. The Wolves also did major damage from the service line with 15 aces, led by Sara Moberg who finished with a career-high seven aces. NSU, 15-5 on the season and 7-5 in the NSIC, now has four straight matches on the road, starting with a contest at Bemidji State on Friday. To see a complete box score, click on the following link:
