Aberdeen Central is represented by Lauryn Burckhard on the second team South Dakota Coaches Association Class AA all-state volleyball team. The sophomore was the leading hitter for the Golden Eagles this past season.
Here is a look at all of the first and second team selections:
Lauryn Burckhard, Aberdeen Central: This sophomore accumulated 310 kills this season to go along with 30 aces on 92 percent serving, and also had 125 digs in helping the Golden Eagles get back to the state tournament. “Lauryn worked hard this year to develop as a well-rounded player,” said Central coach Jackie Bindenagel. “All aspects of her game improved over the course of our season, and it was fun to watch her evolve as an athlete and leader.”
