Warner sweeps past Christian in Region 1B semifinal

WARNER - Warner racked up 15 aces to go along with 41 kills to defeat Aberdeen Christian Thursday night. The Monarchs improved to 30-4 on the season with a 25-14, 25-12, 25-14 sweep over the Knights in Region 1B volleyball action. "I told the girls we have nothing to lose going into tonight and to leave it all on the court," said Christian coach Sara Powell. While the Knights were able to stick with Warner early in the opening set, the hosts closed with a flurry to set the tone for the rest of the match. Kyleigh Schopp paced the Monarchs with four aces and a dozen kills. Olivia Marcuson contributed eight kills, and Jaycee Jung added seven to the balanced Warner attack. Jordyn Jensen and Libby Scepaniak each finished with three aces. Eri Cobbs led the Knights with four kills and three blocks. Sophie Glynn and Ari Johnson each contributed three kills.
