Golden Eagles win team title at Britton-Hecla Triangular

BRITTON - Aberdeen Central used a balanced effort to capture the team championship at the Britton-Hecla Triangular gymnastics meet on Monday. The Golden Eagles finished with a total of 133.450 points. Britton-Hecla was second and Sisseton third. "We have not practiced for 10 days. ... We were not sure how the girls would look tonight," said Central coach Mickey Everson. "But honestly it went well." Sisseton's Izzy Metz took the all-around after winning the vault and beam. Maddy Walberg of Central who won the floor was second in all-around, and Britton-Hecla's Abigail Lee, who won the bars, was third in all-around. "We had a few more skills we threw out today and they paid off, but we as a coaching staff always start analyzing and planning all the things we need to add or change," Everson said.
