RAPID CITY - It wasn't a perfect night on the mat, but it was a perfect night on the scoreboard for the Aberdeen Central girls' wrestling squad Thursday. The Golden Eagles won all three of their duals, defeating Sioux Falls Jefferson 42-24, Sioux Falls Lincoln 54-6, and Rapid City Central 36-28. "The night had its up and downs," said Golden Eagles coach Jake Flakus, "but we ended with three wins, so overall a good night." While the night was full of numerous forfeits, Flakus pointed out one match in particular in a tight dual against RCC. "A big first win for Augustine Hieb to help us beat Rapid City Central," Flakus said, "but also a lot of other good efforts to help us finish the night strong." Hieb pinned her RCC foe to help the Golden Eagles secure that dual win. Aberdeen also received pins on the night from Jasmine Maas, Lin Paw Jone, Ula Martin, Wylynn Drevlow, and Allison Neitzel. The Eagles will compete in the two-day Rapid City Invitational today and tomorrow.
