MOORHEAD, Minn. – Eighth-rated Minnesota State Moorhead scored the first nine points and never trailed on the way to an 80-50 win over Northern State in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference men’s basketball action Thursday night.

The Dragons shot 61 percent from the field on the way to improving to 6-1 on the season.

The Wolves had a balanced attack on offense led by Marcus Banks with 11 points, and Ethan Russell with 10. Kaleb Mitchell contributed nine.

Northern, 1-6 on the season, plays at Bemidji State and St. Cloud State next weekend, before hosting Jamestown on Monday, Dec. 16 at Wachs Arena.
