SIOUX FALLS – One day after scoring 11 goals, the Aberdeen Cougars were unable to find the back of the net on Saturday.

The Cougars fell 3-0 to Sioux Falls East in boys’ hockey action.

“I thought we played a pretty good game,” said Aberdeen coach Jeremey Backous. “We generated some good scoring chances, but we couldn’t find the back of the net.”

Unlike an 11-4 win over Brandon Valley, the Cougars were unable to get a puck past the Sioux Falls East goalie in 20 tries.

The contest was just 1-0 heading into the third period. East scored twice, including an empty-netter in the final minute, to secure the victory.

Aberdeen goalie Carson Hunstad stopped 32 shots.
