CLARK – Karson Zak made two free throws with 1.8 seconds remaining to lift Groton past Clark-Willow Lake 49-48 in Northeast Conference boys’ basketball action Friday night.

Clark-Willow Lake, which led by a dozen points at halftime, broke a 47-47 with a free throw with four seconds remaining. After a Groton turnover, the Cyclones missed a pair of foul shots, then fouled Zak who made both of his free throws to give Groton the victory.

Ryder Johnson led all scorers with 19 points for the Tigers. Gage Sippel added 11, and Zak finished with 10.

Sully Felberg scored 17 points for Clark-Willow Lake. Bo Begeman and Emmerson Larson followed with 11 and 10, respectively.
