MELLETTE – Leola-Frederick exploded for 27 first-quarter points and improved to 11-0 on the season with a 75-49 Lake Region Conference boys’ basketball win over Northwestern Thursday night.

Noah Kippley led all scorers with 24 points for the fourth-rated Titans. Gavin Nickelson added eight points, and Westyn Thorpe finished with seven.

Jack Hansen topped Northwestern with 15 points. Ty Boekelheide followed with nine, and Dallas Stoltenberg contributed eight.
