FARGO, N.D. – Aberdeen Central’s Madison Little advanced to the semifinal round during the opening day of the Rumble on the Red wrestling tournament on Thursday.

Little won two matches by fall and another by decision on the day.

Central also has seven other wrestlers who need to win one more match in order to place.

“We’ve had a good tournament so far,” said Central coach Jake Flakus. “We are sitting seventh out of 67 teams, with eight girls moving on to (Friday).”

Flakus said his wrestlers are holding their own against top-quality competition.

“There are a lot of good teams and wrestlers here,” Flakus said, “so it’s good to see we are hanging with them.”
