The Aberdeen Hockey Association is holding the Second Annual Greg Swanson Day on Saturday at the Odde Ice Center.

The Aberdeen Cougars will be hosting the Brookings Rangers with games throughout the day. The schedule has a Pee Wee A game at 9 a.m., followed by the Girls 14U at 11 a.m., the girls’ varsity at 1 p.m., the Bantam A at 3 p.m., the boys’ junior varsity at 5 p.m., and the boys’ varsity at 7 p.m.

The day honors the late Greg Swanson, who died of cancer in October 2023. He was a member of Aberdeen’s state championship squad in 1992, when he led the state in scoring. A scholarship fund has been established to help give less fortunate players an opportunity to play hockey.
