Central boys win Lee Wolf team title, have three champs

Aberdeen Central showed why it is one of the elite wrestling programs in the state on Saturday. The Golden Eagles won the boys' team crown, and had three individual champs during the Lee Wolf Invitational at a packed Golden Eagles Arena. "I think the kids competed hard. I think that’s the big thing. You can see the effort in kids," said Central coach Donnie Bowden. "Even when we fell in some places, they still gave good efforts. That’s a good thing. That’s where we want to be. We want to put out as much effort as possible. Now, it’s just about getting a little bit smarter with our wrestling, and get in the situation we want to be in." Esten Foss, Mason Schrempp, and Elias Biegler all won their respective weight classes. Foss gained a measure of revenge against a pair of quality Class B foes en route to winning the 113-pound title over Kayden Tchida of Sisseton 7-6.
