Aberdeen Central found out Monday that it qualified six gymnasts following last Saturday’s State Qualifier to this weekend’s state meet at the Watertown Civic Arena.

Representing the Golden Eagles will be Maddy Walberg (all-round), Regan Lust (vault and floor exercise), Alexis Bomesberger (vault), Breckan Sanjter (floor exercise and vault), Morgan Naasz (vault), and Izzy Loecker (vault).

“It is a great group,” said Central coach Mickey Everson. “We actually qualified every girl that did vault Saturday so that’s exciting. … I have never had every competitor on an event qualify before.”

Everson said there is a wide range of emotions as the Golden Eagles head into their final competition of the season.

“Very excited for these girls. It’s a bittersweet time where we are excited for the individuals, sad for the team and sad for the seniors,” Everson said. “I have girls that just don’t want to be done. It’s a really nice feeling to have girls want to keep practicing and never have the season send.”
