WATFORD CITY, N.D. - The Aberdeen Cougars scored 16 goals in three games during the opening two days of a girls' hockey tournament in Watford City. The Cougars lost to Watford City 4-3, and defeated Brandon 7-1, and Bismarck 6-0. Aberdeen is using 12-year-old Hadley Herman in goal as starting goalie Chloe Vikander is still out with an injury. "We're still mixing and matching a lot of pieces," said Cougars coach David Sandvig. "Hadley Herman our 14U goalie has been in net and playing great. Glad the girls have been putting some pucks in the net." Sandvig said the Cougars have been getting goals from a variety of players. Herman was named the Player of the Game against Watford City, Rachel Siefken won the award against Brandon, and Addy Keller received the award against Bismarck. The Cougars will face Hazen this morning in the semifinals. If they win they will play in the championship game, if they lose they will play for third place.
