HARRISBURG – In a contest that was moved up by weather concerns, the fourth-rated Harrisburg Tigers put the defensive clamps on Aberdeen Central Friday afternoon, handing the Golden Eagles a 57-29 setback in Eastern South Dakota Conference boys’ basketball action.
Harrisburg put three players in double figures and had three more with six or more points, producing a balanced offensive effort that outpaced the Golden Eagles, who were just 27 percent from the floor. The 29 points marked a season-low for Central.
“Struggles continue on offense,” said Central coach Brent Norberg. “Proud of the kids’ effort. We will keep trying to improve every day.”
Brendan Phillips led the way for Central, finishing with 12 points and four rebounds. Jacob Weishaar and Jack Bertsch had four points apiece.
Harrisburg, which improved to 12-2, got 11 points each from Crayton Jibban and Nolan Krull. Kaden Anderson finished with 10 points and four rebounds for the Tigers, who were 10 for 21 from 3-point range.
Central, 2-11 on the season, returns home to face third-rated Mitchell on Tuesday.
