Castlewood well represented on DVC all-conference teams

The Dakota Valley Conference has announced its all-conference basketball teams.

The Boys’ Most Valuable Player is Trevon Beckman of Dell Rapids St. Mary. Coach of the Year is Andy Hansen of Estelline-Hendricks.

Boys’ champion Castlewood has a strong presence on the honor unit.

First-team members are senior Beckman; senior Bryon Laue of Castlewood; senior Maverick LeBrun of Dell Rapids St. Mary; junior Grant Wilkinson of De Smet; senior Jamison Keszler of Castlewood; and senior Tanner Drietz of Elkton-Lake Benton.

Second-team selections are sophomore Lucas Peskey of Iroquois-Lake Preston; junior Trimmier Hanson of Dell Rapid St. Mary; junior Brody Bass of Castlewood; senior Wyat James of Estelline-Hendricks; senior Jase Mousel of Colman-Egan; junior Kyler Carlson of Estelline-Hendricks.

Third-time honorees are sophomore Isaac Gass of Deubrook Area; senior Luke Baumberger of Castlewood; senior Jackson Zwart of Colman-Egan; senior Jack Mousel of Colman-Egan; sophomore Kamden Keszler of Castlewood; and Chance Schoenfeld of Deubrook Area.

Honorable mention selections are junior Paxton Rheault of Arlington; sophomore Caden Zwart of Colman-Egan; Jake Kopsas of Dell Rapid St. Mary; sophomore Noah Luethmers of De Smet; sophomore Braxton Bednarek of Deubrook Area; sophomore Joseph Nibbe of Elkton-Lake Benton; senior Matthew McAninch of Estelline-Hendricks; senior Daunte Glanzer of Iroquois-Lake Preston; and sophomore Boyd Pooler of Oldham-Ramona-Rutland.

The girls’ Most Valuable Player is junior Brynlee Landis of Colman-Egan. Coach of the Year is Brad DeBeer of Deubrook Area.

First-time selections are Landis; junior Jaelyn Huntimer of Arlington; junior Hazel Luethmers of De Smet; senior Madala Hanson of Dell Rapids St. Mary; junior Mataya Gouws of Deubrook Area; and junior Jenna Miller of Dell Rapids St. Mary.

Those are on the second team are junior Bailey Hyland of Oldham-Ramona-Rutland; senior Kaylee Voelker of Colman-Egan; junior Matte Bauman of Deubrook Area; senior Alyssa Asleson of De Smet; freshman Sophia Kudrna of Castlewood; and senior Brianna Griffin of Dell Rapids St. Mary.

Third-team members include sophomore Kylee Johnson of Deubrook Area; freshman Maddyn LeBrun of Dell Rapids St. Mary; junior Hadlee Holt of Iroquois-Lake Preston; senior Addison Libis of Dell Rapids St. Mary; junior Megan Dylla of De Smet; and senior Ellisyn Vincent of Arlington.
