Eastern Coteau Conference announces all-conference teams

The Eastern Coteau Conference has announced its all-conference basketball teams.

The girls team is led by Most Valuable Player Addison Heinje of Wilmot. The girls’ Coach of the Year is Matt Bauer of Great Plains Lutheran.

First-team members are senior Brooke Hlavacek of Florence-Henry, junior Katherine Prahl of Great Plains Lutheran, senior Madeline Prahl of Great Plains Lutheran, senior Shali Laurence of Tri-State, and sophomore Addison Heinje of Wilmot.

Second-team selections are senior Heather Storbakken of Britton-Hecla, senior Ashleyn Klitzke of Florence-Henry, freshman Ashlynn Vavruska of Florence-Henry, senior Myra Lentz of Great Plains Lutheran, senior Iceli Rabbithead of Tri-State, and Carlee Mushitz of Waverly-South Shore.

The ECC boys’ Most Valuable Player is Carson Vavruska of Florence-Henry. The boys’ Coach of the Year is Will Roe of Florence-Henry.

First-team members are junior Will Richter of Britton-Hecla, senior Carson Vavruska of Florence-Henry, senior Ty Bergh of Florence-Henry, senior Jackson Steffens of Tri-State, senior Traveion Neilan of Waubay-Summit, and junior Sam Appelhof of Waverly-South Shore.

Second-team selections senior Brody Scharleman of Great Plains Lutheran, senior Austin Rubendall of Great Plains Lutheran, freshman Hogan Hlavacek of Waubay-Summit, senior Dylan Rumpza of Waubay-Summit, senior Zach Ries of Waverly-South Shore, and junior Ethan Schwenn of Wilmot.
