Redfield, W-I-N pick up baseball victories

REDFIELD – Redfield used a pair of big innings to claim a 9-0 high school baseball win over Faulkton on Thursday night.

The Muskrats scored three times in the second inning and tacked on six more runs in the fifth frame.

The big blow came off the bat of Micah Zastrow who produced a bases-loaded tripled in the sixth inning. Zastrow finished the contest with a pair of hits and knocked in four runs.

GROTON – Warner-Ipswich-Northwestern rallied from a 5-1 deficit to collect an 8-5 win over Groton.

Chays Mansfield had a two-run double to highlight a six-run fourth inning for W-I-N. Alec Mikkelsen also doubled in the victory.

Karsten Fliehs and Nick Morris each finished with two hits and two RBI for Groton. Morris had a two-run double in the first inning to help the hosts build an early 5-1 advantage.
