W-I-N picks up season-opening victory over Redfield

REDFIELD – Warner-Ipswich-Northwestern scored in all but one inning on the way to a 13-2 high school baseball victory over Redfield Tuesday night.

W-I-N set the tone with four runs in the first frame, and three runs in both the second and third innings.

Drew Bakeberg had a run-scoring double to highlight the first inning, and Logan Fischbach delivered a two-run single and Bakeberg added another RBI hit in the second.

Bakeberg and Lincoln Kroll each finished with a pair of hits in the victory. Fischbach drove in three runs, while Alec Mikkelsen and Bakeberg each knocked in a pair. Chays Mansfield scored four times.

Bakeberg also struck out six batters in three innings of relief on the mound.

Jacksan Rude paced Redfield with two singles and also scored a run.
