CLARK – In a doubleheader where hits were at a premium, Clark Area swept a pair of games over Sisseton, 5-4 and 2-0 in American Legion baseball on Monday.

Clark scored five runs on just two hits in one game. The hosts scored twice in the first inning when Watson Grantham walked, stole two bases, and scored on a ground out. Will Hovde also walked and eventually scored on a wild pitch.

Clark then put up three runs in the second without a hit, thanks to three walks, a fielder’s choice, a wild pitch and an error.

Sisseton scored three times in the fourth and once in the fifth. Reggie Lincoln had a double in the third and came around to score.

Grantham was dealing on the mound for Clark in the other contest, allowing just one hit and striking out 11 in the five-inning game.

Jakob Steen scored both runs, singling in the first and reaching on an error in the fourth. He scored the first run on an RBI single from Ky Vandersnick, and the other run on a run-scoring hit from Charlie Luvaas.
