Wolves edge Southwest for wrestling win

Northern State won four consecutive matches in the middle weights to help fuel a 24-19 win over Southwest Minnesota State in a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference wrestling dual at Wachs Arena Friday night.

The Wolves were bolstered with a four-match surge, getting victories from Kolton Roth at 141 pounds, Wyatt Turnquist at 149, Izaak Hunsley at 157, and James Burks at 165. Turnquist won by technical fall and Burks by pin.

Landon Fischer and Marcus Placide also won matches for the Wolves, who improved to 2-0 on the dual season.
