RAPID CITY – Spencer Barr scored a career-high 25 points and Aberdeen Central finished off a weekend road sweep with a 71-46 non-conference boys’ basketball win over Rapid City Stevens Saturday afternoon.

Barr was 8-of-9 from the field, including 3-of-4 from three-point range to power the Golden Eagles on offense.

“Spencer was really good today, after a tough one (Friday) night,” said Central coach Brent Norberg. “He got us going offensively.”

Alec Voegele contributed 13 points to the Central total while Noah Behrends added a dozen.

Meanwhile, the Eagles were solid on defense and had just five turnovers in the contest to maximize their possessions.

“Our defense was very good all game. We took care of the ball and got great shots on offense,” Norberg said. “I think we had five turnovers and three of them were illegal screens.”

The Eagles ended up shooting 44 percent from the field and were in control after the first period en route to the win, coming on the heels of a seven-point triumph over Rapid City Central on Friday night.

“Our energy and intensity was much better today,” Norberg said.

Central has its home opener on Friday, hosting Spearfish at 7 pm. at Golden Eagles Arena.
