Northern drops doubleheader to St. Cloud

The Northern State men’s and women’s basketball teams came up short in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference basketball games Saturday at Wachs Arena.

The Wolves dropped an 84-80 decision in the men’s contest, while the NSU women lost to the Huskies 66-50.

Jordan Belka led the Northern men’s offense with 21 points in a game that wasn’t determined until the closing seconds. St. Cloud converted a three-point play with six seconds left to break an 80-80 tie.

Lexi Roe led a balanced attack for the NSU women with 13 points. She also hauled down seven rebounds.
