Aberdeen Central athletes top three individual events and can be found in numerous others among the Class AA track and field leaders this week.

Sam Rohlfs, who recently broke the state record in the long jump, leads the Class AA boys in both the long jump and triple jump. Central’s Ciara Frank is tied for first in the Class AA girls high jump.

Rohlfs is among the leaders in other events as well. The senior is second in the 200-meter dash and third in the 100-meter dash. Josh Martin has the third best times in both the 1,600 and 3,200, and is sixth in the 800.

Other Central leaders in AA boys include Aiden Heimann who is third in the 300-meter intermediate hurdles and fourth in the 110-meter high hurdles, Chanden Nieman who is eighth in the javelin, Gabe Johnson who is seventh in the pole vault, and Jacob Merxbauer who is fourth in the triple jump.

The Golden Eagles are fifth in the 1,600-meter relay and eighth in the 3,200-meter relay.

In the girls’ division, Frank is also sixth in the long jump.

Other Central girls among the leaders include Gracie Rife who is seventh in the 100, Taryn Hermansen who is fourth in the shot put, and Katelin Stoebner who is sixth in the discus. The Eagles are also seventh in the 400-meter relay.
