The Aberdeen Wings will go the rest of the way this post season without their leading scorer.

Cade Neilson, who set franchise records for goals and assists, decided to return home to England to help his country in the IIHF World Championships in Finland.

Neilson leaves as the team’s all-time leader in career points (147) and also single-season assists (49).

He helped to lead the Wings to a series-clinching victory over the Austin Bruins last Friday night, scoring the game-winning goal and also adding an assist.
