Aberdeen Central athletes took advantage of solid weather during the recent Al Sahli Invitational to record some season-best performances as reflected in this week’s Class AA track and field leaders.

Sam Rohlfs, who has not competed recently because of an injury, continues to lead the long jump and triple jump, is third in the 200 and sixth in the 100.

Josh Martin, who set a new school record in the 800 at the Al Sahli, is currently second in the 800, and third in the 1,600 and 3,200.

Aiden Heimann is third in the 300-meter intermediate hurdles and fifth in the 110-meter high hurdles, while Drew Salfrank is fourth in the 400.

Central continues to have the third best time in the sprint medley relay.

On the girls’ side, Ciara Frank is second in the high jump and tied for eighth in the long jump. A trio of Golden Eagles are all sixth in their respective events: Sadie Struble in the 300 hurdles, Taryn Hermansen in the shot put and Abby Berry in the javelin.
