Central golfers win Huron team championship

HURON - This was a team title in every sense of the word. Aberdeen Central had four golfers all within five strokes of each other on the way to capturing the team title at the Huron Invitational on Tuesday. The Golden Eagles were five strokes better than the rest of a loaded field which featured the top teams in the state. "It was a good confidence builder today, just going out and playing against the competition that we did," said Central coach Kim Zimmerman. "We beat some really good teams today. The top teams in the state were there in my opinion." Central was led by eighth-grader Emma Dohrer who tied for sixth with an 82. Zimmerman was impressed with her round that was played in wet and cold conditions. "I’m glad for Emma. She led us today. She really did. She stepped up," Zimmerman said. "That’s a great round today; 82 for an eighth-grader on a golf course that’s wet." Teammates Kyley Wirebaugh and Olivia Braun tied for 13th with 84s, while Leah Gough tied
