REDFIELD – Redfield scored multiple runs in each inning on the way to an 18-2 win over Clark to move into the championship game of the Region 6B American Legion Baseball Tournament on Wednesday.

Redfield needs just one more victory to return to the State B tournament where they finished runner-up a year ago. This year’s state tournament will be in Gregory.

Redfield scored four runs in the first inning, seven more in the second, five times in the third and twice in the fourth on the way to the victory.

Redfield will face the winner of the Clark-Groton contest at 5 tonight. Groton won a pair of games to remain in contention in the double-elimination tournament and takes on Clark at 1 this afternoon. The winner will have to defeat Redfield twice in order to advance to the state tourney.

Groton took care of Warner-Ipswich-Northwestern (WIN) 20-2 before eliminating Wessington Springs 26-13.

Groton scored nine runs in each of the first two innings against WIN. Pierce Kettering and Cole Simon each had two hits. Kaleb Hoover knocked in three runs and Simon two. Groton had 10 hits to go along with eight walks and two hit batters.
