Cavaliers finish seventh at Dell Rapids event

DELL RAPIDS – The Aberdeen Roncalli golf team finished seventh in a 16-team field Monday at the Quarrier Invitational golf tournament. The Cavaliers shot a team total of 347.

Vermillion won the event with a 319. Eli Anema of Sioux Falls Christian earned medalist honors with a 71.

Roncalli’s top finisher was Sawyer Henrich who finished 17th with an 82.

Cavaliers coach Jon Murdy knows that his golfers can play better.

“We had some bad shots and some mental mistakes,” Murdy said. “We’re hoping to improve on those (Tuesday).”

Roncalli competes in the annual Northeast Conference Tournament today in Sisseton. The Cavaliers are three-time defending NEC champs.
