WAUBAY – Aberdeen Christian claimed its first volleyball win of the season Tuesday, defeating Waubay-Summit, claiming a 3-1 win over the Mustangs. Christian won the non-conference match by set scores of 25-16, 14-25, 25-20 and 25-23.

“It feels good,” said Christian first-year head coach Sara Powell. “The girls are super excited. It’s fun to see their excitement.”

Chloe Bosma finished with 13 kills and Alexis Isakson tallied 36 digs in the victory. Jolie Fogarty had 19 assists.

“They never give up on a point, and that’s all I can ask as a coach,” Powell said.

Powell noted her team’s serve-receive was the best it has been all season and hopes Tuesday’s effort can serve as a springboard into Thursday’s action when Christian hosts North Central.

“We’re just going to keep moving forward,” Powell said.
