WATERTOWN – A slow start on the offensive end of the floor spelled the demise of the Aberdeen Central boys’ basketball team Tuesday night, as the Golden Eagles fell 48-30 to Watertown in an Eastern South Dakota Conference contest in Watertown.

The Golden Eagles scored just two points in the opening quarter and six in the first half. Central was able to regain some rhythm after halftime, but was unable to overcome the early deficit.

“We are struggling to score right now,” said Central coach Brent Norberg. “The kids played a better second half, but I have to find a way to get our offense more consistent.”

Spencer Barr finished with 15 points for the Golden Eagles. He also added a pair of assists.

Jake Olson had 14 points for Watertown, which received at least five points from seven different players in the victory.

Central will head to Tea Area on Saturday for a non-conference game. Tipoff is set for 2:30 p.m. in Tea.
