Sioux Falls Washington is the new number-one rated team in Class AA girls in this week’s media basketball polls. The Warriors took over the top position after defeating last week’s number one O’Gorman 42-33.

All of the other top teams retained their positions atop the polls. There are two intriguing matchups this weekend at the Hanson Classic in Mitchell on Saturday. One pits top-rated White River against second-rated Aberdeen Christian in a battle between two Class B powers. The other features the top two teams in Class A, number one Dakota Valley against number two Sioux Valley.

In girls’ basketball, Hamlin continues to be rated number one in Class A with Florence-Henry receiving votes. Wolsey-Wessington continues to be rated second and Warner fifth in Class B. Timber Lake was a big mover this past week, vaulting from receiving votes all the way up to number three.
