WOLSEY – Second-rated Wolsey-Wessington exploded for 12 points in overtime to claim an 87-81 non-conference girls’ basketball win over third-rated Sully Buttes Monday night.
The Warbirds, who made 20 of 25 free throws in the contest, made all six of their attempts from the charity stripe in the extra period.
Mallory Miller finished with 35 points and 10 rebounds to top Wolsey-Wessington, 17-2 on the season. Leah Williams contributed 21 points, 10 assists and six steals. Mya Boomsma added 14 points, and Taylor Horn netted 10.
Allyson Wittler tossed in 20 points, and Addison Chicoine followed with 14 for the Chargers, who slipped to 15-3. Calleigh Chicoine and Lydia Hill each added 13.
