Redfield Muskrats claim third double-digit win to start season

OLDHAM – The Redfield Muskrats continued their dominating start to the high school baseball season on Sunday afternoon.

Redfield, which won a pair of lopsided games on Saturday, defeated Oldham-Ramona-Rutland-Arlington 22-2. The Muskrats have now outscored their first three opponents by a combined total of 58-11.

Redfield took advantage of 11 hits, eight walks, eight hit batters and three O-R-R-A errors in its lastest victory.

The Muskrats scored 17 runs in the top of the first inning on just seven hits, but four of those hits went for extra bases.

Seth Siebrecht had a three-run home run, Kevin Weller had a two-run shot, Eli Morrissette contributed a two-run double. Elliott Komraus also doubled in the frame. Nolan Gall delivered a two-run single, and Mason Whitley drove in a run with a single. The other seven runs came in on hit batters, a walk, errors and a passed ball.

Redfield tacked on five more runs in the second inning. Erik Salmen had a two-run single, while Whitley and Siebrecht also knocked in runs with singles.

Siebrecht drove in five runs on the day and Weller finished with three.

Siebrecht, Morrissette, Whitley each collected two hits.

Siebrecht struck out eight batters in three innings on the mound.
