Class B Track and Field Leaders

Area athletes started hitting their strides this past week and ascended up the Class B track and field leaderboard.

Warner’s Hunter Cramer moved into first place in the 110-meter high hurdles, and Brenden Begeman of Herreid-Selby Area moved to the top of the shot put.

Faulkton’s Daniel Stoll is now second in the 200-meter dash, Abe Kretchman of Aberdeen Christian moved into the second position in the triple jump, Marley Guthmiller of Ipswich is now tied for second in the pole vault, and Aberdeen Christian’s Shawnteah LaCroix moved up five spots to third in the 100-meter dash.

Leola’s Dustin Wurtz continues to top the discus and improved his leading mark this past week.

Other area boys’ leaders are: Trevor Heinz of Ipswich (second in the long jump), Johnathan Bretsch of Frederick (third in the 800), TJ Salmen of Hitchcock-Tulare (third in the 300-meter intermediate hurdles and fifth in the 110 hurdles), Kretchman (third in the long jump), Tanner Dryer of Herreid-Selby Area (third in the triple jump), Carson Walters of Wolsey-Wessington (tied for third in the pole vault), Carter Luikens of Potter County (fourth in the 400), Nicholas Schlachter of Potter County (fourth in the 3,200 and sixth in the 1,600), Carter Geditz of Ipswich (fourth in the 110 hurdles), Moshe Richmond of Wolsey-Wessington (fourth in the high jump), Roman DiMaria of Faulkton (fifth in the 400), Julius Pagels of Wolsey-Wessington (fifth in the 800), Lucas Rowland of Ipswich (fifth in the shot put), Tyler Hettich of Ipswich (tied for fifth in the high jump), Stoll (tied for sixth in the 100), Turner Thorson of Ipswich (sixth in the 400), Lincoln Woodring of Northwestern (sixth in the 800 and seventh in 1,600), Cramer (sixth in the 300 hurdles), Caleb Richmond of Wolsey-Wessington (seventh in the 800), Brody Davis and Darrel Yost of Ipswich (tied for seventh in the pole vault), and Maxwell Kulesa of Ipswich (eighth in the 800). Area relay teams include: Wolsey-Wessington (second in the 1,600, Medley and 3,200), Ipswich (third in the 400, fifth in the Medley, seventh in the 800, eighth in the 3,200), Faulkton (third in the 800, fourth in the 400, and sixth in the 1,600), Warner (seventh in the 400), Northwestern (seventh in the 3,200), and Aberdeen Christian (eighth in the 400).

Other area girls’ leaders are: Ella Boekelheide of Northwestern (second in the 1,600, third in the 3,200 and fifth in the 800), Ella Haven of Northwestern (third in the triple jump), Emma Schlachter of Potter County (fourth in the 800), Tatum Luce of Wolsey-Wessington, Addison Melius of Faulkton, and Gracie Lange of Ipswich (all tied for fourth in the high jump), Ashley Ptacek of Ipswich (fourth in the triple jump), La Croix (fifth in the 200), Quincy Olivier of Ipswich (tied for fifth in the pole vault), Guthmiller (sixth in the 100 hurdles), Mya Boomsma of Wolsey-Wessington (tied for sixth in the long jump), Avery Miles of Hitchcock-Tulare (seventh in the 1,600 and eighth in the 800), Brooklyn Heim of Herreid-Selby Area (eighth in the 100), Kennadee Wiedebush of Warner (eighth in the 3,200), Dannika Kaup of Potter County (eighth in the 300 hurdles), and Jalyssa Hutson of Ipswich (eighth in the pole vault). Area relay teams include: Potter County (second in the 3,200, third in the 1,600, and seventh in Medley), Northwestern (third in the Medley and fourth in the 3,200), Frederick (tied for sixth in the 1,600), and Wolsey-Wessington (eighth in the 3,200).
