Castlewood sweeps Region 1B team titles

WATERTOWN – The Castlewood Warriors swept team championships during the Region 1B Golf Tournament at Cattail Crossing on Monday.

Castlewood edged Webster for the boys’ title with both squads finishing with 268 totals. Hamlin was third with 271. Castlewood won the girls’ crown by 10 strokes over Clark-Willow Lake.

Lane Tvedt of Castlewood was the boys’ medalist with an 81, two strokes ahead of Florence-Henry’s Logan Vavruska and Webster’s Blaize Amdahl.

Brynn Roehrich of Clark-Willow Lake was the girls’ medalist with an 80. Eva Koisti of Hamlin was runner-up with an 85.

Aberdeen Christian finished 10th in boys’ team points. The Knights were led by Ellis Russell who shot a 105.

This year’s Class B State Golf Tournaments will take place June 5-6 in Watertown. The girls will be at Cattail Crossing while the boys will be at Prairie Winds.
