
HURON – Miller’s Jayce Pugh earned girls’ medalist honors, while Gavin Colson of Sully Buttes was the boys’ medalist to help lead their respective squads to the team championships at the Region 5B Golf Tournament at Broadland Creek Golf Course on Monday.
Pugh fired a 78 to win the girls’ title by 13 strokes. The Rustlers won the team crown by 19 strokes.
Colson edged four golfers by a single stroke to grab the boys’ title. He shot an 82, while Chet Peterson of Ipswich, Cooper Long of Lyman, Tray Hettick of Selby Area, and Thomas Farries of Sully Buttes all finished with 83s.
The State B Tournament is June 5-6 in Watertown. The girls will be at Cattail Crossing, while the boys will be at Prairie Winds.
