Aberdeen Central heads into this year’s Class AA State Track and Field meet with the top marks in two events. Ciara Frank leads the ratings in the girls’ high jump and the Central boys have the top time in the 1,600-meter relay. That squad is comprised of Aiden Heimann, Gabe Johnson, Carter Dingman and Drew Salfrank. Golden Eagles are also second in three other events. Heiman has the second fastest time in the 300-meter intermediate hurdles, Taryn Hermansen in second in the shop put, and Frank is second in the long jump. Central has multiple leaders in four different events. Tyler Bain is tied for fifth and Brandon Phillips is tied for eighth in the high jump, Kuch is eighth in the shot put, and is third in the discus with Taryn Nieman fourth, and Regan Lust is tied for seventh in the high jump.
