REDFIELD – Aberdeen Circus Sports Bar built a 6-1 lead and then held off Redfield DQ for a 9-5 amateur baseball victory Tuesday night.

Kelly Coates had a game-high three hits for Circus, which scored two runs on wild pitches, two runs on errors, two more on fielder’s choices, one on a bases-loaded walk, and another on a ground out.

Ryan Ellingson had a pair of hits for Aberdeen, including a double. He also pitched eight innings, allowing three runs and striking out eight batters.

Chad Ellingson and Lucas Heiser also had two hits in the team’s 12-hit attack, while Josh Steinwandt drove in a pair.

Redfield made things interesting with a three-run sixth inning to slice the deficit down to 6-4, but could get no closer. The hosts finished with eight hits in the contest.
