Nilsson selected Class B Miss Volleyball

SIOUX FALLS – Warner standout Ava Nilsson was chosen the Class B Miss Volleyball on Sunday.

The senior setter recently concluded a prep career where she racked up more than 5,000 set assists. The Northern State recruit had 936 assists this past season to go along with 36 aces, 78 kills, 5 solo blocks and 52 block assists. Last month Nilsson was selected to her fifth straight Class B first-team all-state squad. She was also the setter challenge champion during the all-star game on Sunday in Sioux Falls.

Macie Malchow of Sioux Falls Washington was chosen the Class AA Miss Volleyball winner. Audra Nelson of Madison was selected as the Class A Miss Volleyball.

Lauren Marcuson of Warner was also a finalist for the Class B award. Other finalists included Presly Pastian of Sioux Falls Jefferson and Linnea Nesheim of Sioux Falls Lincoln in Class AA, and Tevan Erickson of Elkton-Lake Benton, Macy Koupal of Wagner, Sidney Oostra of Sioux Falls Christian, and Karly VanDerWerff of Platte-Geddes in Class A.
