Roncalli runs past Webster for boys’ victory

Aberdeen Roncalli was in a hurry to get things done Thursday night. The Cavaliers got out in transition at every opportunity and finally subdued Webster 67-58 in a Northeast Conference boys' basketball contest at Roncalli Gym. "It was one of those deals where we preached getting out in transition today and we did just that," said Roncalli coach Dan Gallagher. The Cavaliers snapped a three-game losing skid with the win. Gallagher said the team was motivated heading into the game. "I think our guys came in with a little bit of fire," Gallagher said. That was evident early on as Roncalli overcame a four-point deficit to take a 19-13 lead after the opening period on Aiden Fisher's three-point field goal at the buzzer. After scoring seven points in the first quarter, Fisher added seven more in the second period to help stake the Cavaliers to a 36-26 halftime lead.
