Golden Eagles claim pair of boys dual victories

YANKTON – Aberdeen Central picked up a pair of Eastern South Dakota Conference boys’ wrestling dual victories Tuesday night, defeating Yankton 73-3 and earning a 40-25 win over Brandon Valley at the Yankton Triangular. Central coach Donnie Bowden said the wins were significant. “To come out and beat Brandon Valley, it’s been a couple years since we’ve been able to do that,” Bowden said. “They’re still a solid program.” Bowden said his team still has its ups and downs within a dual, but noted the efforts of Ridley Waldo at 138 pounds and Mason Schrempp at 157. “Ridley wrestled really well,” Bowden said. “He beat two quality opponents. And it’s good to have Mason Schrempp back. He went out and got bonus points in both his matches. But overall it was a big team effort.” In addition to Waldo and Schrempp, the Golden Eagles got a pair of victories from Tate Huff, Owen Ward and Ryker Meister.
