Smittys drop pair to Harrisburg

HARRISBURG – The Aberdeen Smittys fell twice to Harrisburg in American Legion baseball action Wednesday night, despite outhitting the hosts in one of the contests.

The Harrisburg bats exploded in the opener en route to a 23-11 victory. Jack Sutton had four hits, including three home runs and a double to power the Harrisburg offense. Sutton drove in a whopping 10 runs in the contest.

Nick Clemens and Josh Steinwandt each had a pair of hits for the Smittys, while Steinwandt, Max Prehn and Tyler Hoffman each drove in two.

Aberdeen outhit Harrisburg in the second game, but it wasn’t enough in a 5-2 setback. Sutton had two more hits for Harrisburg, which used a four-run third-inning to take control.

Clemens and Matt Feiock each had two hits for the Smittys. Clemens also drove in both of Aberdeen’s runs.
