Bowdle, Eureka golfers top Leola Invitational

LEOLA - Cooper Oxner of Bowdle and Alaina Dosch of Eureka earned medalist honors during the Leola Invitational golf tournament on Monday. Herreid won the boys' team title, while Eureka grabbed the girls' team crown during the nine-hole event. Oxner fired a 46 to top the boys' field, one stroke better than Max McNeil of Herreid. Dosch finished with a 49 to set the pace in the girls' division. Teammates Katelyn Eberhart and Sydney Bertsch both shot 52s. Aberdeen Christian finished third in boys' team points. The Knights were led by Becker Bosma in fifth with a 52. Josh Schaunaman shot a 55, and Ellis Russell and Joey Johnson each finished with totals of 58. BOYS’ DIVISION Team Points: Herreid 151, Bowdle 155, Aberdeen Christian 165, Britton-Hecla 167, Eureka 169, Ipswich 182.
