SIOUX FALLS – Sioux Falls Roosevelt scored 14 two-out runs to pave the way to a 15-5 non-conference softball victory over Aberdeen Central on Friday.

The Rough Riders plated five runs with two outs in the third inning, two more two-out runs in the fourth, and ended the game in the fifth with seven runs after two were out.

The Golden Eagles jumped in front early with two runs in the top of the first inning. Avery Bendewald was hit by a pitch and Ayrlie Waldo single, and both scored on an error.

Central also plated three runs in the top of the fourth and trailed just 5-4 at that stage. Reece Comstock singled and later scored on a single by Addyson Keller. Rachel Siefken doubled in Keller and then ended up scoring on the play because of a Roosevelt error.

However, the hosts pulled away down the stretch to record the victory. Five different players accounted for 11 hits for the Riders. Desiree Hinsch finished with three hits, including two doubles, and knocked in five runs. Aliyah Chagolia doubled and tripled, and drove in three.

Waldo led Central with two hits, while Keller and Siefken each had an RBI.

Central heads back to Sioux Falls on Tuesday to take on O’Gorman.
