REDFIELD – Elijah Morrissette tossed a five-inning no-hitter, and hit a home run to break a scoreless tie that propelled Redfield to an 11-1 victory over Sioux Valley in high school baseball action Sunday afternoon.

Morrissette, who earlier had a perfect four-inning game in which he struck out every batter, fanned nine batters against Sioux Valley, whose only run scored on an error.

The Muskrats exploded for five runs in the fourth inning and six more in the sixth to end the contest on the 10-run rule. After Morrissette’s two-run home run, Conner Zens delivered a bases-loaded hit to push the margin to 5-0.

Redfield tacked on a half dozen more runs in the fifth as Zens added a two-run double, and Micah Zastrow drove in one with a triple. The other runs scored on errors and a wild pitch.

Zens finished with three hits total and knocked in five runs.
