Braun wins SDGA Sanford Tournament

VERMILLION - Olivia Braun of Aberdeen won girls' title at the South Dakota Golf Association Sanford Tournament on Monday. Braun dominated the competition, winning by 16 strokes. After shooting a 76 on Monday, Braun followed up with a round of 71 Tuesday at The Bluffs Golf Course. Erin Hurd of Sioux Falls finished second with a 163. Other area golfers in the top 10 included Brynn Roehrich of Watertown who tied for fifth with a 172, and Claire Crawford of Aberdeen who was tenth with a 181. Derek Andersen of Tea won the boys' championship by just two strokes after finished with a 36-hole total of 145. Mac Drake of Sioux Falls was second with a 147, and Taten Mauney of Hartford was third, also with a 147. The top area boys' finisher was Aberdeen's Cole Brust, who tied for 16th with a 156.
